Following the Club’s disappointing exit from the Emirates FA Cup at the third round stage, City now have only the Premier League to concentrate on over the course of the final five months of the 2018/19 campaign.
Ghezzal, who scored in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat by Newport County, insists everyone at King Power Stadium is determined to secure an improvement on last season's ninth-place finish.
However, the Algeria international made no attempt to excuse that result at Rodney Parade and assured the Blue Army that time will be spent on the training pitches to ensure a swift recovery.
“We are very disappointed, [the Newport game] was a very bad result for us,” he told LCFC TV. “The cup was an objective for us, for the Club, for the boss and we didn’t do everything for the win today.
“We had many chances without success and it’s a very bad day. We knew before the game that it was going to be a tough game with bad conditions but it’s not an excuse.
“We need to do better and we have already said that we had a lot of chances to score before and after the game it will be easier but after the game.
“All game we tried to come back and we came back at the end and then we conceded a penalty.”
City next welcome Southampton to King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday (3pm GMT kick-off).
Looking to the future, the 26-year-old added: “We need to keep working for the next game and now focus for the Premier League.
“It’s now our only objective so now we put the games one after one and we need to win more games.”
