After signing for the Club in the summer of 2011, Kasper Schmeichel's debut came in a 1-0 win at Coventry City at the start of the 2011/12 season. The Foxes would go on to finish ninth in the Championship and reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. He won the Club's Player and Players' Player of the Season awards that year.

The goalkeeper's second season for the Football Club produced a sixth-placed Championship finish in 2012/13. However, City were beaten by Watford in the play-off semi-finals. He was named in the PFA Team of the Year.
