The 3-1 triumph over Fulham came as a result of a dominant display at King Power Stadium, as City dictated play for the majority of the game.
A lively start from the Foxes saw Youri Tielemans fire off target with only six minutes on the clock, before Vardy was denied a goalscoring opportunity just moments later following an excellent challenge from Håvard Nordtveit.
Vardy and Tielemans then combined on 21 minutes as the City striker unselfishly set up the Belgium international midfielder, who took a touch before slotting into an open goal to get off the mark for the Club.
Academy graduate Harvey Barnes was unfortunate not to make it 2-0 just moments later after curling wide of Sergio Rico’s goal, while the Fulham stopper made easy work of two Tielemans efforts towards the end of the first period.
After the interval, however, Fulham restored parity against the run of play through substitute Floyd Ayité, whose shot deflected off Harry Maguire and beat Kasper Schmeichel.
A brilliant save from Rico followed as Barnes was denied a maiden City goal, while Schmeichel was on hand shortly after to tip Aleksandar Mitrović’s header to safety.
Crucially, Vardy bagged Leicester’s second goal with 12 minutes to play after converting a perfectly-weighted delivery from James Maddison to take his goalscoring tally to 99 for the Foxes.
Just eight minutes later, Vardy struck again from a Barnes pass, applying a neat, low finish to beat Rico for the second time in the game.
The former Fleetwood Town man became only the seventh player in Leicester City’s history to score 100 or more goals for the Football Club.
Major moment
Jamie Vardy's first goal of the game put City into a 2-1 lead with 12 minutes to play.
A significant threat throughout the 90 minutes, it was only a matter of time before Jamie Vardy got himself on the scoresheet against the Cottagers.
Having already registered an assist by setting up Youri Tielemans in the first period, a clinical finish from Vardy put City back in front after Floyd Ayité’s leveller.
From then on, there would be only one winner, and Vardy’s second goal of the game made sure of all three Premier League points for the hosts.
Who impressed?
Academy graduate Harvey Barnes set up Jamie Vardy for his 100th Leicester City goal during the 3-1 win over Fulham.
Striker Jamie Vardy ignited the King Power Stadium crowd with a typically relentless display against Fuham on Saturday.
Forever chasing down lost causes, Vardy constantly put the Fulham back line under pressure, epitomising the intensity that Brendan Rodgers expects from his stars.
His two finishes, meanwhile, were applied in his trademark style, as he first fired low past Sergio Rico before sweeping in Harvey Barnes’ pass to make it 3-1.
Where do we stand?
Kasper Schmeichel celebrates the first goal on Filbert Way as his side beat Fulham 3-1.
Brendan Rodgers’ maiden victory as Leicester City manager sees his side move up into the top half of the Premier League table, leapfrogging Everton in the process.
Coming up…
Youri Tielemans thanks Jamie Vardy after the striker set him up for his maiden Premier League goal.
The Foxes’ next challenge arrives in the form of a Premier League trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Saturday 16 March (3pm GMT kick-off).
