Following relegation from the third tier last season, Paul Hurst’s Iron are among the favourites for promotion back to League 1 and Glanford Park is the Foxes’ first stop this summer.

Another encounter with League 2 opposition follows quickly for Rodgers’ men as they head to Jonny-Rocks Stadium to tackle Cheltenham Town on Saturday 20 July (3pm BST kick-off).

Michael Duff’s men are preparing for their fourth-consecutive campaign in League 2 following a 16th-place finish last season, courtesy of just two defeats from their final eight fixtures.

Leicester are then due at Abbey Stadium for an encounter with Cambridge United, who also ply their trade in the fourth tier, on Tuesday 23 July (7:30pm BST kick-off).

The U's narrowly avoided relegation to the Motorama National League last term after former Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood led the South East side to safety.

City’s preparations for the 2019/20 season really gather steam on Saturday 27 July, however, as two squads will contest concurrent friendlies at Rotherham United and Stoke City.

League 1 Rotherham, managed by Paul Warne, will welcome one Foxes side to New York Stadium, while Nathan Jones’ Stoke host another at bet365 Stadium, both 3pm BST kick-offs.

The Potters concluded their first season back in the Championship, following relegation from the Premier League, in 16th place during the 2018/19 campaign.

Rodgers will then have one last opportunity to see his squad in action on Friday 2 August as Leicester return to King Power Stadium to tackle Serie A side Atalanta (7:30pm BST kick-off).

I Nerazzurri enjoyed a successful season last time out, finishing above both Milan clubs, to place third in Italy’s top tier, enough to seal qualification into the UEFA Champions League for the first time.

Once that exciting encounter on Filbert Way is finished, full attention will turn to the visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers to Leicester on the first day of the new Premier League season.

Wolves are due to visit King Power Stadium on Sunday 11 August (2pm BST kick-off) as Nuno Espírito Santo's men provide the maiden opposition for the Foxes on the opening day.
