City Complete Memorable Comeback Against Spurs
Brendan Rodgers made two changes to his side to face Spurs, as Harvey Barnes and Ayoze Pérez returned to the starting XI in place of Demarai Gray and Hamza Choudhury.
Both sides traded blows, with Harry Kane testing Kasper Schmeichel inside the opening few minutes, before the electric James Maddison went close on two occasions after some fine footwork.
A minute later, the Foxes had the ball in the back of the net via Wilfred Ndidi, who turned home after a goalmouth scramble, only for his effort to be disallowed by VAR after an offside against Pérez.
However, it was the visiting side who finally made the breakthrough, as Kane managed to maintain his balance to convert past Schmeichel to put his side in front.
Spaniard Pérez then went close to levelling matters, but his powerful drive was turned away by shot-stopper Paulo Gazzaniga at the near post.
After the interval, the Foxes maintained their pursuit for an equaliser, as Ndidi, Jamie Vardy and Barnes all had opportunities to score – but then came the crucial moment.
Serge Aurier appeared to have doubled Tottenham’s advantage with a low drive, but after a VAR review, Heung-min Son was offside in the build-up and the goal did not stand.
Three minutes later, Rodgers’ men were level. Çağlar Söyüncü initially won the ball off Kane just inside the Spurs half before Maddison played the ball into Barnes. The Academy graduate spread it wide to Vardy, whose deflected cross was turned home by Ricardo Pereira to make it 1-1.
Further pressure from City followed, and it was Maddison who went on to score the winning goal in emphatic fashion.
The Leicester No.10 collected a pass from substitute Choudhury before driving towards goal and drilling into the bottom corner past Gazzaniga to seal all three points for the hosts.
Major moment
With the scores level at 1-1, it would take something special for Leicester City to go on and win the game – and up stepped James Maddison.
The Foxes No.10, who in the first half went close on two occasions, was rewarded for his persistence when he lashed the ball into the bottom corner for the winning goal.

Speaking to LCFC Radio at full-time, Gerry Taggart said: “It was a really good team performance today. I’m going to give it to one of those two guys at the back today, but it’s on the flip of a coin. I’m going to give it to Jonny Evans.
“He put an absolute shift in today for Leicester City, coming up against one of the best forwards in the Premier League. I could have given it to Çağlar Söyüncü too, but I think Jonny in the end was my Man of the Match today for Leicester.”
