All About Picking Up Points, Says Vardy

After Kelechi Iheanacho had earlier opened the scoring against Crystal Palace with a close-range finish, Vardy scored twice late on, with his first seeing him reach a century of Premier League strikes.
On both occasions, the legendary City striker was assisted by Academy graduate Harvey Barnes, and was full of praise for his team-mates after they won 3-0 at King Power Stadium.
“I'm over the moon,” Vardy told LCFC TV. “We were all about getting the performance right today and picking up three points.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy spoke to LCFC TV after scoring his 100th and 101st Premier League goals in a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.
“The first one with, Barnesy (Harvey Barnes), their centre-half slipped, Barnesy's nicked in and he could have shot, and he's decided to square it and basically left me an open net.
“Credit to Barnesy for getting me in there and the second one, I've managed to hold my run, Barnesy's played me through again and I always back myself to score in that situation.
“It's one of those things, you obviously want to score as many goals as possible. I'm also one of them players that, first and foremost, it's all about picking up points for the team, so it doesn't matter who scores a goal. Luckily, for me today it was me that got them.”
Striker Vardy felt City delivered an assured performance against the Eagles, but says focus is now firmly on their trip to Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal on Tuesday night.
“We just thought our last two games, one of them, in the first half we were great, the second half not so good,” he added. “And then, the next game after it was the opposite way.
“So, we just wanted to blend both halves together and get a full 90 minute performance. I think, from what you've seen today, that's exactly what happened.
“At the end of day, we know it's all down to us. We're not having to rely on anyone else, so we'll get back, recover, train and look forward to the game on Tuesday.”
