City’s 2020/21 Premier League campaign got underway in the West Bromwich sunshine, and following a goalless opening 45 minutes, they finally found the opener.
Praet himself set up Belgium international team-mate Timothy Castagne, who headed home a lovely, lifted, left-footed cross for 1-0.
A brace of penalties from Jamie Vardy, meanwhile, saw the striker continue his prolific goalscoring form at the Hawthorns.
Speaking to LCFC TV, Praet said: “We are happy with the score. It was a good game to start the season. So, we're going home with the win and three points. That's important.

“We didn't expect that they would play with five [defenders], so it changed a bit all of a sudden. But I think we were patient. We knew the goals would come and that's what happened in the second half.”
When asked about his personal aims for 2020/21, the multi-skilled midfielder was quick to underline his focus on City’s performances during the new campaign.
“I'm hoping for a good season with the team, so I'm not looking to myself,” he said. “I'm watching the team.
“The team is the most important, we need to continue the way we did it last year.”
With two domestic cup competitions and a UEFA Europa League journey running alongside Leicester’s seventh-straight Premier League campaign, Praet says every player’s fitness must be at its peak ahead of a tight games programme.
Castagne: I'm Very Happy With My Goal
Leicester City debutant Timothy Castagne spoke to LCFC TV after his goal helped the Foxes to a 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.
He said: “It's very exciting, so we are really looking forward to those games. We hope, of course, we can do good also in the Europa League.
“We will have a lot of games, so it's important that everyone is in good shape for all of the games.
“I think now it's good that we can recover. But I think we should get used to more than one game a week because there are a lot of games.
“But this was the first game and we had a short preparation, so it's good that we have some time off.”
