Foxes Ukraine-Bound For Final Group G Away Fixture

Leicester City will conclude their Group G away duties this week after travelling to the south-eastern city of Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine for a UEFA Europa League encounter with Zorya Luhansk at Slavutych Arena.
More on this story...

Since the opening group match between the two sides, their European ambitions have gathered speed as City secured qualification to the knockout stages with a 3-3 draw at SC Braga last week.

Strikes from Academy duo Harvey Barnes and Luke Thomas, and a late equaliser from City top-scorer Jamie Vardy, ensured their excellent away form has seen them suffer just one defeat – by current Premier League champions Liverpool – on the road.

Meanwhile, Zorya’s 3-0 win at the Olympic Stadium over AEK Athens nearly a week ago means their hopes of advancing to the Round of 32 lie firmly in their own hands with two group matches, including this one, to play.

On the domestic front, Zorya are eighth in the Ukrainian Premier League after eight games, most recently beating FC Minaj 3-0 away to record their first victory in the league since late October.

Striker Kelechi Iheanacho is among the travelling squad for Thursday's clash in Ukraine.

City’s departure from England came mid-morning on Wednesday, while they will land in Zaporizhzhia late afternoon, and will be met by a much colder climate that could at times approach sub-zero temperatures.

On Wednesday evening, captain Wes Morgan and manager Brendan Rodgers will address the media at Slavutych Arena, the home of Zorya Luhansk, before the travelling squad train at the stadium in preparation for Thursday’s showdown.
