James Maddison
James Maddison

James Maddison was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month prize in January.

Giving an update on his squad, Brendan Rodgers revealed: "James [Maddison] is fine. Like I said, we gave him a rest last night. He’s just finished training and was absolutely brilliant, so he’s fine. Timothy Castagne, again, is training very, very well. He will probably just miss out for this weekend, but we’ll see where he’s at in midweek and the following weekend, but he’s looking good. Çağs (Çağlar Söyüncü), the same. We probably just need to build him up a little bit more, but he’s not too far away. Daniel Amartey has come back into training and has trained very well. It’ll just be a process with him and when we can introduce him back into any games that we can. Ricardo [Pereira’s] probably a bit further behind, with his adductor, so you’re probably looking at a couple more weeks for him."

Brighton manager Graham Potter, meanwhile, said: "The game's going to come too soon I think for Adam [Lallana]. Apart from that, there were no fresh problems from the game. So, it’s pretty much the same squad that we that we had (against Southampton)."

Kasper Schmeichel

A brilliant save from Schmeichel to stop Brighton taking an early lead.

Kasper Schmeichel was the hero for Leicester City as the Denmark international saved a first-half penalty from Neal Maupay in a 0-0 draw between the two sides on 23 June, 2020, in the first-ever Premier League fixture to be staged behind closed doors at King Power Stadium during Project Restart.

Earlier in the season, meanwhile, Ayoze Pérez's breakaway goal and a Jamie Vardy penalty secured a 2-0 success for the Foxes at AMEX Stadium, in City's fifth consecutive win.
