Rodgers: A Really Competitive Leicester Performance

Marcus Rashford's early opener was equalised in the first half by Harvey Barnes' rocket, before an 85th-minute own goal from Axel Tuanzebe levelled it again late on, following a Bruno Fernandes effort.
After watching City secure their first draw of the 2020/21 Premier League season, Rodgers pointed to the development of his side, who have won nine of their 15 league games this term.
"It was two teams coming into the game in good form and I thought it was a really good, attacking game of football," the Northern Irishman told LCFC TV in his full-time assessment.
"If you can’t win the game, you don’t want to do what we’ve done this season and lose games. If we lost that 2-1, we’d have still been saying how well we’ve played.
"It’s important for the development of us as a team and as a squad that we can come from behind against a really, really good side, a top side, and get the result."
Elsewhere, the Foxes' pressing game was praised by many onlookers during the encounter with Ole Gunnar Solskjær's men, with the visitors' backline regularly under pressure from the hosts' attacking players.
Rodgers outlined the importance of timing those pressing tactics, while also saying he and his coaching team will analyse the two goals Leicester conceded to see where improvements can be made.
"Against most teams, we try to have an educated pressure in the game," the 47-year-old added. "There’s moments where you’ve got to be really aggressive and press.
"There are also moments when you get your lines compact and tight. I thought we showed a good balance in that today.
"They had a bit of luck in the first goal, where the deflection takes it to Marcus Rashford, and he finishes it really well.
"The second one, we’ll analyse. There’s a coaching element in that where we could have been better, but today, the story is that we played really, really well.
"The very least we deserved was a point, and we were really competitive at the top end."
