A Supporter Guide To Thursday's Spurs Clash

The Foxes head into the encounter the back of a morale-boosting 4-0 victory over Newcastle United while Spurs have not contested a top-flight fixture since the 3-0 success over Norwich City in north London on 5 December. 

Ahead of Thursday's meeting on Filbert Way, here's what you need to know...

Iwan Roberts will be on the Matchday Live panel on Thursday evening.

Available on LCFC Radio’s Matchday Live from 6pm will be 90 minutes of build-up to the game, with former Foxes Iwan Roberts and Gerry Taggart joining presenter Dan Bates on air.

Then, approximately 10 minutes before the 7:30pm kick-off gets underway in Leicester, Matt Elliott will accompany commentator James Fielden to talk the Blue Army through all of the action on Filbert Way.

The dedicated LCFC.com Match Centre is the only place you can listen to live and free commentary, while all pre and post-match programming will be available across @LCFC social media.

After the full-time whistle, there will be another 30 minutes of reaction and analysis, brought to you by the Matchday Live panel.

Craig Pawson

The referee for the clash with Antonio Conte's Spurs will be Craig Pawson.

Referee Craig Pawson is the man in the middle at King Power Stadium on Thursday and he will be assisted by Ian Hussin and Richard West. The fourth official will be Jonathan Moss. VAR, on the other hand, will be overseen by Lee Mason, assisted by Gary Beswick.

Supporters attending games at King Power Stadium must compliant with the requirements of the UK Government’s Autumn/Winter Plan B.

The return of Leicester City fans to King Power Stadium has been a welcome boost during this Premier League season and supporter safety continues to be the Football Club’s top priority.

With that in mind, it is important that supporters attending Leicester City fixtures are aware of and compliant with the requirements of the UK Government’s Autumn/Winter Plan B. The implementation of these plans has now been confirmed and means changing requirements for adults attending venues with more than 10,000 people.

From Wednesday 15 December 2021, and therefore in place for Leicester City’s home fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday 16 December, supporters aged 18 and over will be required to complete and sign an online pre-registration form (valid for the season) to show they have understood and agree to updated conditions of entry. These require all adult supporters to have certification that demonstrates they are any one of the following:

- Fully vaccinated (currently a full course of vaccination without the need for a booster);
- Able to provide evidence of a negative lateral flow test in the 48 hours preceding the event;
- Eligible for medical exemption

This means that those aged 18 years or over must have a valid NHS COVID Pass, or an alternative proof of a negative test result, to gain entry into the stadium.

In addition to the requirement for supporters to pre-register, the Club Is required to conduct COVID-19 certification spot checks at turnstiles, to ensure supporters are adhering to the requirements of the UK Government’s Autumn/Winter Plan B. It is therefore advised that supporters arrive early to allow time for these checks to take place prior to kick-off.

Supporters that fail to pre-register or provide appropriate COVID certification on request risk being refused entry and tickets will not be refunded.

The game was being played in front of a reduced capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions at the time.

Jamie Vardy's brace wasn't enough to prevent Leicester City from sliding to a 4-2 defeat by Spurs at King Power Stadium on the final day of the 2020/21 season. Former Fox Harry Kane netted for the visitors, who also benefitted from a Kasper Schmeichel own goal and Gareth Bale's brace.

Earlier in the season, though, a spot-kick from Vardy and Toby Alderweireld's own goal helped City to a 2-0 victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Leicester City have won 37 previous clashes, drawn 21 and fallen to defeat on 58 occasions against the north London side.

A two-minute highlights package is set to be available for Digital Members to watch for free on LCFC TV, via the Club's official website (free sign-up) approximately two hours after the full-time whistle.

Short clips are then set to be posted on Leicester City's official social media channels from midnight, alongside extended match highlights being available to watch on LCFC.com.
