Leicester City To Play Rennes In UECL Last-16
- Leicester City have been drawn against Rennes in the UEFA Europa Conference League
- The round of 16 tie to be played over two legs in March
- City beat Randers in the knockout round play-offs to reach this stage
The Foxes will face their French opponents in March, having beaten Randers in the knockout round play-offs. Goals from Wilfred Ndidi, Harvey Barnes, Patson Daka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall came at Leicester City Stadium, before Barnes struck again alongside a James Maddison brace in Denmark.
That 7-2 aggregate success has now teed up a tie with Bruno Génésio's Les Rouge et Noir in the last-16. The first leg is scheduled to take place on Filbert Way on Thursday 10 March (8pm kick-off), with the second leg pencilled in a week later on Thursday 17 March at Roazhon Park (5:45pm kick-off).
Rennes were unbeaten winners of Group G earlier this season, finishing above Vitesse, Tottenham Hotspur and Mura. The two-time champions of France currently sit fifth in the Ligue 1 standings and are striving to once again secure European qualification via a domestic route.
