The 28-year-old defender has agreed new terms to keep her at Belvoir Drive ahead of the new Barclays Women’s Super League campaign.

Speaking to LCFC TV, Howard said: "I am extremely happy to have extended my contract. This Club has huge potential and we've shown that in the last couple of years. We have come a long way on and off the pitch.

"We achieved our first target last season of retaining our WSL status. Now it's about starting the season stronger and finishing higher in the league table. I feel like I have a lot to give and hopefully I can do that every day to help the team."

Following a permanent transfer from Reading in 2020, the versatile operator played a starring role in her team securing promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League in an historic title winning season.

One of the first names in City starting XI, Howard made 27 appearances for the Foxes during the Club’s inaugural campaign in the women’s top tier, helping the team to retain WSL status under manager Lydia Bedford and has now returned for pre-season.
