The January signing hit the ground running as a Foxes player with a goal on debut at Aston Villa and contributed to the subsequent win over Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium. It’s been some start for the former Lyon loanee.

With Brendan Rodgers’ side preparing to return to Filbert Way for this weekend’s Premier League encounter against Arsenal, the Brazilian winger sat down with LCFC TV to outline his thoughts on the upcoming game and, firstly, adjusting to life in Leicestershire.

“It’s been a month and it’s gone by really quickly,” the 23-year-old admitted, reflecting on his loan move. “I remember my first impressions here at Leicester were as good as they possibly could be. I’m really happy here with my team-mates helping me a lot.”

Tetê Marks LCFC Debut With A Goal

Brazilian star Tetê opens his account for Leicester City on his Foxes debut.

The victory at Villa Park earlier this month was one to remember for the travelling Blue Army, who packed out the away end with Brazilian flags and were vocal in supporting a new hero on Leicester’s right wing.

Tetê continued: “It was a really special day, unique. You really had to be there to appreciate it. Scoring the goal, helping the team get the win after a run of defeats - I was really happy at the end of the game to see those Brazilian flags; it was really impressive. You could say it was a dream come true.

“I remember the emotions. My celebration was a bit strange, I slipped, but it was brilliant the time I scored the goal right before half-time for us going into the dressing room, so it was great, I remember it well.”

Outlining his contributions to recent results, alongside the likes of James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Kelechi Iheanacho, the winger felt confident from the moment he walked through the door, and this was only boosted once he heard the Blue Army’s reception.

We go into every game wanting to win and this one is no different. It will definitely be a great game. Arsenal are a very strong side but we are looking to put in a big performance against them.

“It was an incredible win at home (vs. Spurs),” he explained. “I was really looking forward and excited to be playing at King Power Stadium. To win against Tottenham was a great feeling.

“It’s been incredible. You can see the way that we link up on the pitch, the way we combine, the connection we have as a team in the dressing room, it’s been really gratifying and pleasing to have this front play with them.

“It wasn’t a surprise at all because the team welcomed me and received me so well from the very first day. They explained to me the way they intend to play and I also explained how I like to play as well, so that connection has been there since very early on.”

The Premier League leaders visit on Saturday (3pm GMT kick-off) and Tetê insisted there will not be a mentality shift within the squad as they look to bounce back from defeat to Manchester United last weekend.

“We go into every game wanting to win and this one is no different,” he added. “It will definitely be a great game. Arsenal are a very strong side but we are looking to put in a big performance against them.”
