Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has been named in the England senior men’s squad for two UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers over the upcoming international break.

Maddison, 26, has scored nine goals for the Foxes in 2022/23, after netting 18 times last term. The Leicester No.10 was also called up for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, but did not feature for Gareth Southgate’s side, who reached the quarter-finals of the tournament.
The Three Lions are scheduled to face Italy in Naples on Thursday 23 March (7:45pm kick-off), before hosting Ukraine at Wembley on Sunday 26 March (5pm kick-off). England are in Group C, also alongside Malta and North Macedonia.
Maddison’s only appearance for his country was as a substitute during a 7-0 home win over Montenegro in EURO 2020 qualifying four years ago.
