Kelechi Iheanacho and Timothy Castagne scored the goals which gave Dean Smith his first success as the Club’s new Manager, coming from behind following Matheus Cunha’s early opener at King Power Stadium.
Praising the spirit within the group, Soumaré also pointed to the support from the Blue Army as a factor in assisting City to overcome Julen Lopetegui’s side.
“It was definitely a big game that we needed to take seriously and win,” he told LCFC TV post-match. “And we were able do that with the help of our fans at home. It’s great for everyone involved with the Club.
It’s thanks to my team-mates that I was able to perform well today. I will strive to do the same for the remainder of the campaign.

“We showed really strong character today, but that’s who we are. We’ve lost it a bit this season, but it’s who we are, a strong team, solid.”
A crucial victory, which moves the Foxes out of the bottom three, featured an impressive display from the Frenchman, who was brought back into the starting XI after missing the defeat by Manchester City.
Reflecting on his own performance, the 24-year-old continued: “It’s thanks to my team-mates that I was able to perform well today. There are only six games left, so I will strive to do the same for the remainder of the campaign.
“It’s a different philosophy under the new manager. His main message is that we all need to work together to get the Club out of the situation that we’re in at the bottom of the table.

“It’s true that all the cards are redistributed with a new manager, but I believe in my abilities, and I will always try and give my best for the team.”
Soumaré also outlined the importance of backing up the result when travelling to face Leeds United at Elland Road on Tuesday evening.
“It’s another big game,” the central midfielder added. “We have to try and replicate this performance to bring all three points home.”
