Leicester City Football Club can confirm that an agreement has been reached for the transfer of James Maddison to Tottenham Hotspur for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who joined the Foxes in June 2018, made 203 appearances in all competitions for the Club, scoring 55 times and producing a series of skilled, imaginative and industrious displays in a City shirt.
Since his debut in August 2018, James has been a key figure for City – a major attacking influence that helped the Club to consecutive top-five Premier League finishes in 2019/20 and 2020/21, along with Emirates FA Cup and Community Shield successes.
He also contributed on the European stage, featuring in the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League, as the Foxes reached the last four of the latter in 2021/22 – a campaign in which James was voted Player of the Season by the Club’s supporters.
During his time in the East Midlands, Maddison made his senior international debut against Montenegro in November 2019, and was selected in the England squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
