The Danish shot-stopper, who joined the Club from Brøndby IF earlier this summer, has enjoyed several weeks of intense preparation for the Sky Bet Championship campaign, including the pre-season tour of Southeast Asia.

The trip to Thailand and Singapore offered an opportunity to meet his new team-mates, get to grips with the style of play and system that Manager Enzo Maresca is looking to implement and gain his first minutes in a Leicester shirt during two fixtures.

Games against Port FC and Liverpool formed part of the groundwork ahead of the season, with Hermansen starting both and playing 90 minutes at Singapore National Stadium in the final outing ahead of Sunday.

We know we have to bring our A-game to win and we want to do that, of course. We have to put that pressure on ourselves.

“I feel like I’ve settled in very well,” the ‘keeper revealed while speaking on Filbert Way this week. “Of course, there’s a lot of new things to learn. I also got to know the guys very well on the training camp and how to play in this team, so it’s good.

“I think it was a great camp. It was challenging with the weather and stuff like that. It was hot, but I think it was great for the group to come together and especially for me trying to get to know the other guys a bit better. And I feel like a good part of the team now which is great.

“It’s always important to get into the team as fast as possible and trying to create some relations in that manner. Also on the pitch, we have a lot of training, hard sessions, getting to know the new goalkeeper coach and the other guys as well on the pitch.

“We had some tough, hard games, but it was a great to try to work on these relations with the other guys to try and improve what we want to do on the pitch, so it was good.”

'Bring Our A-Game' - Hermansen's Message

Goalkeeper Mads Hermansen on the preparations for Leicester City's season opener against Coventry City.

Kicking off 2023/24 at King Power Stadium, getting off to a positive start in front of the Blue Army is the top priority for the 23-year-old, but acknowledges that it won’t be straightforward against a side who were an impressive Championship outfit last term.

“I’m very much looking forward to it,” the Denmark international revealed. “I think it will be great fun and we know Coventry are a strong side. They were in the play-off final last year, close to getting promoted.

“We know we have to bring our A-game to win and we want to do that, of course. We have to put that pressure on ourselves and be as ambitious as we can because we have the quality and the players to do so. That’s what we are aiming for.

“For the first time at the open training session [on Wednesday] I felt the support of the fans and I look forward to feeling that environment in this great stadium.”
