Leicester City's Best Starts To A Season
Enzo Maresca's Foxes were an unstoppable force in the month of August, winning all four of their Sky Bet Championship matches.
Never before had a Leicester side achieved that league feat, leading to the Italian claiming the Manager of the Month award, which was announced on Friday.
Coupled with the two Carabao Cup victories over Burton Albion and Tranmere Rovers, City managed to record six successive victories at the start of a new campaign for the first time in their 139 years of history.
Previous to this season, Leicester had won their first three matches on three occasions. All of these came in the old Second Division.
It first happened in 1899/1900 when Leicester Fosse, as the Club were then known, defeated Woolwich Arsenal 2-0 at Manor Ground in Plumstead on the opening day.

They followed that up with a 1-0 home success over Barnsley and repeated the feat against Burton Swifts, eventually ending the season in fifth position under Manager George Johnson, who was the Club's longest serving manager.
Seven years later, Leicester began the Second Division by travelling to Burslem Port Vale, winning 2-1. Grimsby Town were next up at Filbert Street and a 2-0 victory made it back-to-back successes at the start of the 1906/07 season.
The same scoreline was repeated at home to Burnley, with Leicester finishing the campaign in third and missing out on promotion to the top flight.
Following the First World War, in 1922/23, Leicester City enjoyed a stunning opening to the league season. A thrilling 5-4 victory over Stockport County was followed by beating Rotherham 3-0 at Filbert Street.
They then faced off against Stockport once more, this time at home, and won 2-0, before ending the season in third. Two years later, Manager Peter Hodge would lead the Club to First Division promotion as champions.
