October's International Break - Eight Foxes Involved

Eight LCFC Women players are joining up with their countries for international duty this week.

- Courtney Nevin called up for Australia, with Sophie Howard to represent Scotland
- Janice Cayman has the chance to feature for Belgium at King Power Stadium
- Wales duo Josie Green and Hannah Cain join up with the squad
- Summer signing Deanne Rose is called up for Canada, as is Jutta Rantala for Finland
- Ava Baker has three chances to represent England Under-19s this week

Liverpool, who City have already beaten this campaign in the Continental Tyres League Cup, will be Willie Kirk's next opponent on Sunday 5 November, but before then, several Foxes have the chance to represent their countries in friendly, Women's Olympic qualifying, and UEFA Women's Nations League action.

Courtney Nevin's Australia face two games, first against IR Iran on Thursday afternoon (12pm kick-off) before taking on the Philippines on Sunday morning (7:10am kick-off), both fixtures Olympic qualifiers ahead of Paris 2024.

Scotland are in Nations League action, and central-defender Sophie Howard has the chance to feature for her country on two occasions, against the Netherlands on Friday evening (7:45pm kick-off), before facing the Orange Lionesses again next Tuesday (7:45pm kick-off) as they hope to move themselves off the bottom of League A Group 1.

Another home nation with City players involved is Wales, with Josie Green and forward Hannah Cain, who opened her 2023/24 account against Liverpool, available for their Nations League games against Germany on Friday (4:45pm kick-off) and Denmark on Tuesday (5pm kick-off).

Janice Cayman's Belgium have an important couple of Nations League fixtures themselves in League A Group 1, facing England on two occasions in a matter of days, on Friday and Tuesday respectively, with the first meeting taking place at King Power Stadium with a 7:45pm kick-off. The reverse of this fixture is set to be held at OH Leuven’s King Power at Den Dreef Stadium.

Finland, who currently top League B Group 2, also return to Nations League action with two fixtures against Croatia on Friday at 4:45pm, before facing them again next Tuesday at 4pm. Jutta Rantala, with two goals so far this season, joins up with the Helmarit squad for the matches.

Deanne Rose has also been selected to join the Canadian squad this month, ahead of two friendly matches with Brazil, on Saturday (7:30pm kick-off), before facing the South American side again, late on Tuesday evening (11:30pm kick-off).

The last Fox to feature is at a young Lionesses level as Ava Baker has been selected for the England Under-19s' UEFA European Women's Championship qualifiers, as they play three games in six days. First against Greece on Tuesday (12pm kick-off), before Wales on Friday (6pm kick-off), and finally Czech Republic on Monday morning (11am kick-off).
