Vestergaard Expected To Miss Watford, Says Maresca

Jannik Vestergaard is likely to miss Saturday's visit to Watford, but may return next week, says Leicester City Manager Enzo Maresca.
More on this story...

- Leicester City face Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday (3pm kick-off)
- Jannik Vestergaard is expected to be out with a muscular injury
- The Dane could return for Tuesday's home clash with Sheffield Wednesday
- Marc Albrighton and Wilfred Ndidi also remain on the sidelines for City

The Denmark centre-back was substituted during last Saturday's 5-0 victory at Stoke City but is set to sit out this weekend's trip to Hertfordshire. The Sky Bet Championship leaders travel to Vicarage Road on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Marc Albrighton and Wilfred Ndidi, on the other hand, remain out for the Foxes.

Initially explaining Vestergaard's situation, Maresca said on Friday: "He’s not available. Wilf is also not available and Marc is not available. The rest are all okay. Jannik, fortunately it looks quite good. It won’t be long and we’ll see for the next games.

It’s not an important injury so hopefully we can have him back on Tuesday or [next] Saturday.

Enzo Maresca on Jannik Vestergaard

"He could be available for Tuesday’s game. That’s the good news, or [next] Saturday’s game, but we’ll see. It’s not an important injury so hopefully we can have him back on Tuesday or [next] Saturday."

Albrighton's injury is a 'short-term muscular concern' while Ndidi's issue is also muscular-based. Harry Souttar, meanwhile, has returned from international duty, where he helped Australia reach the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Cup.
