The Foxes youngsters recorded a first Premier League 2 win this calendar year courtesy of Thomas’ two goals, just over 72 hours on from exiting the Premier League Cup following defeat at Crystal Palace.

Speaking post-match at LCFC Training Ground, the attacker described the mood in the dressing room and how much it meant to produce a performance worthy of the three points.

“Everyone's excited,” he commented on Monday. “It's been a long time coming, but we've just been looking at each game and working on the stuff that we need to work on and gladly today we brought it out on the pitch and got a result we wanted.

Thomas Strikes Twice In Leeds Triumph

Silko Thomas scored both goals as City's Development Squad overcame Leeds United at LCFC Training Ground.

“I think that's the main thing - that we bounced back. It (the Palace game) wasn't a result that we wanted. Obviously, we thought we could get much further in that competition, but we just had to look at it how it is, we didn't get through and move on to the next game, which we did.”

The 19-year-old displayed individual quality to break the deadlock inside 15 minutes, latching on to a long pass from ‘keeper Brad Young to fire Leicester ahead, before being in the right place to turn home Amani Richards’ cross with a first-time finish for his second.

The midfielder explained: “From the start of the game, we said let's get some balls over to test them out early. We did it a couple of times and it finally worked.

'The Win Was A Long Time Coming'

Silko Thomas spoke about his two goals that guided the Leicester City Development Squad to victory on Monday evening.

“When I get the ball, I'm always looking to go towards goal, so once I got that first touch past him, I knew that's where I wanted to go. And then the second one, just reading it and getting on the end of it, that was good.”

Suffering with illness ahead of the game, Thomas mustered the strength to be fit enough to start and play 80 minutes in Seagrave, an attitude which his coach applauded.

“It was very tough to come out there, but obviously I want to be playing no matter what,” he added. “So I just thought I’d fight through and help the team get the result.”
