Sophie Howard Signs LCFC Women Extension

LCFC Women is pleased to confirm that defender Sophie Howard has signed a new contract with the Foxes to keep her at the Club until at least the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

- She joined the Club from Reading in the summer of 2020

The Scotland international – who joined LCFC Women in the summer of 2020 after leaving Reading – has agreed new terms with the Club ahead of City’s fourth campaign in the Women’s Super League.

The 30-year-old has made more than 100 appearances for LCFC Women, helping the Foxes to promotion to the WSL in 2021 before establishing herself as a regular in the women’s top tier.

Speaking to LCFC.com, she said: “I’m absolutely delighted to sign another year for Leicester City. For me, this is the place to be and I’m really looking forward to the time ahead with the team, the Club and our fans.”

Howard has been a key performer for the Foxes in the four years since her arrival and has gone on to help the team become an growing force in the WSL, while also earning a half-century of caps at international level for Scotland.

She featured in all 22 league games for the Club during the 2023/24 season, a campaign which also saw City reach the last-four of the FA Cup for the first time in their history.
