The Leicester City centre-back was in the starting XI as Domenico Tedesco's side made the best start just two minutes in - former Fox Youri Tielemans opening the scoring.
It took until the 80th minute to double the advantage and confirm three points, with Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne striking and ensuring the Red Devils got up and running in Group E.
All four sides are now on three points and in with a chance of making it through to the knockout stages ahead of the final group fixtures, with Belgium taking on Ukraine at 5pm BST on Wednesday
Before then, Jannik Vestergaard, Victor Kristiansen and Mads Hermansen will all be part of the Denmark squad to meet Serbia on Tuesday night.
