Albrighton Hails Winning Mentality

- Marc Albrighton was delighted to help Leicester City to a 3-0 victory over Watford on Saturday
- The Foxes winger capped off another fine display to aid his side's efforts to finish in the top half
- Wilfred Ndidi and Riyad Mahrez also scored against the Hornets to secure a 12th win of the season
- Albrighton hopes this victory can push City towards winning their three remaining league matches

Marc Albrighton says Leicester City want maximum points from their remaining three Premier League fixtures after the propelled them into the top half.

Goals from Wilfred Ndidi, Riyad Mahrez and Albrighton handed City their 12th league victory of the 2016/17 campaign and mathematically secured their top flight status for another year. Albrighton now believes the Foxes can look upwards and push for a top-eight finish to end the season on a high note. 

Speaking to LCFC TV at full-time, the 27-year-old said: “It wasn’t the prettiest of games but we said before that the main thing was the result and the attitude of the players. We showed the attitude was there and we’ve got the result as well. The first goal is important in any game.

Ahead of an away trip to Manchester City this weekend, Albrighton was also delighted to register his fourth goal of the season. After facing Pep Guardiola's side at Etihad Stadium, two home clashes against Tottenham Hotspur and AFC Bournemouth await for the Foxes. 

“It’s always nice to score goals and it’s something I need to add to my game, scoring more goals,” Albrighton added. “The mentality of this group of players is not to rest on our laurels, we want to win every game we go into. We dropped some points in games we shouldn’t have done so we’ve got some climbing up the table to do. 

"With how much we’ve left ourselves to do, if we can finish top half, it would be a good achievement.”
