Christian Fuchs says Leicester City are determined to end the 2016/17 Premier League season on a high as they prepare to welcome on Thursday.
The Foxes suffered a slender 2-1 defeat by Manchester City at Etihad Stadium at the weekend but Fuchs insists they have not been dispirited by the result. Craig Shakespeare’s men played well in Manchester and, if not for an unfortunate turn of events, could have emerged with at least a point.
Speaking to LCFC TV on Tuesday morning, Fuchs said: “It was a great performance in many ways. It’s not easy coming from two goals down but it showed there is a lot of spirit in the team. We’ve not finished this season yet and we want to finish on a high. We felt we deserved a point.
“We were a little unlucky with the penalty but we now have two nice home games to finish the season with. Playing at the King Power doesn’t suit any away team. Then it is just a matter of bringing our performance onto the pitch. With those fans behind us, we can get a positive result.”
City have a top-10 finish in their sights and both sides will be keen to go into pre-season with momentum behind them. Fuchs, however, is confident that the Foxes can emerge triumphant against Mauricio Pochettino’s men if they stick to their game plan.
“We are both trying to give our best in these games,” he added. “Obviously Tottenham will be disappointed. We are just looking at ourselves and trying to get the three points to end the season on a high. It will be something that nobody expected [to finish in the top half]. We have a chance.
"It’s something very achievable for us. We’re doing our best to get there and we’ll see what happens over the last two games.”
