A first win of the 2024/25 campaign came City's way on Tuesday with a 4-0 triumph over Tranmere Rovers in the Carabao Cup, however a maiden three points in the league eludes Cooper's men so far.

The opening-weekend 1-1 home draw with Tottenham Hotspur was followed by a 2-1 reverse at Fulham last weekend, with Unai Emery's UEFA Champions League qualifiers next up at King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Cooper was able to report on Thursday that everyone came through Tuesday's victory over Tranmere on Filbert Way unscathed ahead of a challenging encounter with Villa.

"There's no changes to personnel," the Foxes Manager told the media. "Conor Coady returned the other night. He was on restricted minutes but that was important for him and a nice way for him to return.

"Beyond the performance and result, it was good for some people to get some needed minutes, so everyone’s in contention again."

After Coady's return, Cooper also elaborated on the competition for places in the squad: "Unfortunately for him he picked up an injury at the wrong time, similar to last season. That was more serious than the one he’s just recovered from.

"We want every player fit and healthy and fighting for their position. In a healthy way, we want players knowing there are players waiting to come in if they’re not playing as well as required. We want players to be ready to step in and start if that opportunity comes up. The last thing we want is a culture where players expect to play.

"We have the opposite. We have players not taking anything for grated, realising they’re not the only player in their position."
