Souttar Stars For Sheffield Utd & Five Other Loanees Feature

Leicester City loanee Harry Souttar played throughout Sheffield United’s 1-0 victory over Watford at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

Moving the unbeaten Blades up to eighth in the early Sky Bet Championship standings, with two wins and two draws from their opening fixtures, it has been a solid start to life in Sheffield for the defender.

His fourth appearance for the south Yorkshire club across all competitions – and second clean sheet in league competition – the Australian centre-back could feature again when Chris Wilder’s men visit Hull City’s MKM Stadium on Friday 13 September (8pm kick-off).

Amani Richards’ Exeter City bow came in a 2-0 win at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday. Introduced for the final 17 minutes to see out victory at Toughsheet Community Stadium, the forward had enjoyed an excellent start to the Premier League 2 season with City’s Development Squad before his move to Devon.

In action against Birmingham City.

The Grecians are inside the top 10, with two wins and two defeats so far in League 1 this term and Richards could make his first league start for the club away to Blackpool on Saturday 14 September (3pm kick-off).  

Silko Thomas’ loan at Sky Bet League 1 Wigan Athletic continues to bear fruit for the youngster, gaining another 90 minutes of senior action against much-fancied Birmingham City at the weekend.

Defeated 2-1 late on at St. Andrew’s Stadium in the 20-year-old winger’s fourth appearance for the club, the Latics sit 21st in the table ahead of travelling to Bristol Rovers’ Memorial Stadium on Saturday 14 September (3pm kick-off).

Chris Popov’s AFC Barrow debut ended in a 1-0 triumph against Harrogate Town at The Exercise Stadium, playing 90 minutes of the Sky Bet League 2 contest which sent the Bluebirds up to third in the standings, one point behind leaders Gillingham.

The forward, who made his senior LCFC debut in the Carabao Cup last month, will be hoping to make an impact again when hosting Swindon Town at Holker Street this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Port Vale debutant Brandon Cover started the 3-2 home defeat to Doncaster Rovers at Vale Park, playing 76 minutes at right-wing back. The League 2 club slipped to a second defeat of the season and are currently 17th in the division.

Next up, a meeting with Newport County awaits at Rodney Parade on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off).

Sammy Braybrooke made his Dundee debut in an entertaining 2-2 draw with St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership, playing 62 minutes at Dens Park last weekend.

The young midfielder is in line to make his second appearance for The Dee when taking on Ross County at Global Energy Stadium on Saturday 14 September (3pm kick-off).

Dundee remain unbeaten and sit sixth in the league, having drawn three of their first four matches.
