Leicester City Support Royal British Legion's Poppy Shirt Campaign

- Leicester City to offer match-worn and signed shirts
- Proceeds will go to The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal
- Nottingham Forest game is the Club’s annual Remembrance Fixture

On Friday, the Foxes host Nottingham Forest at King Power Stadium, with the game being the Club’s annual Remembrance Fixture, commemorating the sacrifices of servicemen and women in conflicts past and present.

As a symbol of respect, City’s players will wear shirts featuring an emblem of the poppy for games with Forest, Ipswich Town and Manchester United, with these to be signed and made available to own via auction, exclusively on the MatchWornShirt website and app. All net proceeds will be allocated to The Royal British Legion.

Supporters can also look forward to the opportunity to get their hands on a squad-signed shirt, offered in a special giveaway at MatchWornShirt. This will be free to enter and will run from Monday 21 October to Monday 11 November.

This is the sixth year MatchWornShirt have teamed up with The Royal British Legion, having previously raised close to £3m for The Poppy Appeal.

The Poppy Appeal takes place from Thursday 24 October to Remembrance Sunday on 10 November; every year the RBL leads the nation in Remembrance to honour the contribution of our Armed Forces community, past and present.

Since it was first worn as an act of Remembrance just over 100 years ago, the red poppy has become an enduring symbol of support for our Armed Forces. This year’s appeal highlights the mental scars linked to military service.
