Millwall Defeat Leaves Musa Frustrated
- Claudio Ranieri’s men lost 1-0 at the Den in the Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round
- Shaun Cummings scored late on to win it for the Lions
Leicester City forward could not hide his disappointment after Leicester City exited the Emirates FA Cup at the hands of Millwall on Saturday afternoon.
The Foxes created numerous goalscoring opportunities to book their spot in the sixth round, but couldn’t capitalise, despite putting in a dominant display at the Den.
Shinji Okazaki was denied from close range on two occasions by Lions stopper Jordan Archer, while Musa himself had a number of chances to break the deadlock.
But Shaun Cummings struck for 10-man Millwall in the 90th minute to snatch for his side, as City’s 2016/17 FA Cup campaign came to an end.
“Everybody in the team is angry and upset,” Musa reflected to . “We had the confidence that we were going to play the game and we played well, but at the end of 90 minutes they had the one chance and they scored a goal.
“It’s a very difficult game for us and everybody – the manager and the lads – are upset in the dressing room. We were unlucky today I thought. In the first half, it could have been 3-0, but that is football.
“They were just defending and then tried to get into space on the counter. After they went one man down, that was what they were doing until the end of 90 minutes.
“It’s frustrating but that is football and there is nothing we can do now. We have to concentrate on the next game.”
