Matchday Mag Tom Meighan Exclusive

CITY Matchday Magazine takes a rock ‘n’ roll twist for Tuesday night’s visit of Bolton Wanderers, with an exclusive interview from Kasabian superstar Tom Meighan.

On a night where the Blue Army will be needed to get right behind their team in a match critical to City’s npower Championship play-off hopes, one of the Club’s most famous supporters reveals all about his passion for his beloved team and what being part of the Foxes faithful means to him.

As the front-man for a Brit Award-winning, multi-platinum selling rock band, Tom has toured the world in City blue, flying the flag for the Foxes wherever the road takes him. But he loves few things more than making the familiar journey to King Power Stadium to get behind the boys in blue.

“I still like the whole thing to be an experience, that’s all part of it for me,” says Tom, a Season Ticket Holders since the late eighties at Filbert Street.

“I meet my dad (Tom Sr.), Oscar, Rod the Mod, Moz, my brother John James – there’s a group of us and it’s a thing we do together.

“It’s lovely. It’s more than just going to a game and going home, it’s an event. It’s part of life. It’s like a religion.”

In his exclusive interview, Tom also discusses following the Foxes from afar while on tour with the band, his heroes of years gone by, his modern-day favourites and what the immediate future holds for Kasabian.

City fans can also read the thoughts of Manager Nigel Pearson, Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha and Ambassador Alan Birchenall in their regular matchday columns, while Jeff Schlupp talks about the end-of-season run in and City’s chances of a play-off tilt.

The award-winning Heritage section includes an interview with legendary goalkeeper Mark Wallington, another retro flashback in ‘Classic Kits’ and the popular look back through past Boardroom meetings in ‘Directors Minutes’.

Tuesday’s edition of CITY Matchday Magazine will be available from King Power Stadium ahead of Tuesday night’s game against Bolton Wanderers, or can be purchased online from , priced £3.
