Under-23s Defeat Sheffield Wednesday In Latest Friendly

Dylan Watts scored twice for the Foxes before a tidy finish from Josh Gordon late on during City's third friendly of the summer at the Club’s training ground on Wednesday afternoon.
Liam Waldock grabbed an equaliser for the visitors at the end but Steve Beaglehole will be pleased with the increasing fitness levels of his squad as they prepare to fly out to France for the Tournoi European contest next week.
This result, City’s second success of pre-season, followed a 3-1 defeat by Leamington FC on Friday evening. Before travelling to France, Beaglehole’s squad will contest another friendly at Nuneaton Town’s Liberty Way Stadium on Saturday (1pm kick-off).
Leicester’s XI included Admiral Muskwe, who recently returned from injury, alongside Josh Eppiah in attack while Hamza Choudhury was named captain.
The opener from Watts was typical of City’s early industry as the Republic of Ireland youth international overcame his marker to pick his spot from the left channel.
As the clock ticked down in the second period, Watts doubled his tally for the afternoon with a well-placed free-kick into Wednesday’s bottom corner from the periphery of the 18-yard box.
Late on, Gordon controlled well and converted neatly to cement the Foxes’ dominance before Waldock's late consolation for the guests, a header from close range past substitute ‘keeper Max Bramley.
