Fuchs Content With A Point

While the Foxes produced opportunities of their own in the second period, it was Eddie Howe’s hosts who enjoyed the majority of attacking play at Vitality Stadium.

Jermain Defoe hit the crossbar for the Cherries early on but City’s best chance fell to Shinji Okazaki, who fired inches wide in the latter stages.

“First half, we didn’t play well,” Fuchs told LCFC TV. “Nevertheless, we defended well and that was the best part of the game, we defended as a team and we didn’t concede a goal.

“With a little bit of luck in the second half, with Shinji’s chance, we might have been able to get more than a point from here but I think we have to be happy with a point.

“Bournemouth are a great side, playing good football and they have great combinations. We played our part. Giving the game, you have to be happy with the point.”

The left-back says the upcoming international break gives those within Craig Shakespeare’s squad not away on duty, himself included, a valuable chance to recover from a hectic fixture schedule.

“[It is] good that we have a break now,” he added. “We can come together, some lads will be away on internationals, and we will come back with a fresh mind.

“It feels good to be back on the pitch,” Fuchs continued, addressing the eye injury which kept him out of Leicester’s prior two fixtures.

“It was a tough time for me. Usually, as a footballer, when you have an injury with your legs it’s okay and you accept it. It was tough to watch the team but I’m happy to be back.”
