Albrighton: Patience Paid Off
- Marc Albrighton was happy with the way Leicester City performed after the break against Huddersfield Town
- The winger was on target alongside Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani against the Terriers
- Albrighton also went on to discuss Adrien Silva’s City debut
Neither side could break the deadlock in the first period but goals after the interval from Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani and Albrighton sealed all three Premier League points for Claude Puel’s men.
Praising his side’s patient approach, the winger was of course delighted to help his side record their first win in six games in all competitions.
Speaking to LCFC TV at the full-time whistle, Albrighton said: “We had to be patient. We went in at half-time and we felt that we needed to calm down a little bit.
“We started well but in the 15 minutes before half-time, we got complacent and didn’t play the way we wanted to play.
Albrighton's Delight
The winger speaks to LCFC TV following Saturday's win over Huddersfield.
“To go out and get the goal in the second half settled us all down and I think we did well from then on.
“We just wanted to get back to how we started the game. We felt that we could hurt them by our passing game and get through the first press.
“We stopped doing that towards the end of the first half but we got better at it as the game went on.”
The Foxes have navigated a tricky Christmas period well having collected 13 points since the start of December ahead of a pause in Premier League action this week.
We just wanted to get back to how we started the game. We felt that we could hurt them by our passing game and get through the first press.

“I felt it was difficult,” continued Albrighton. “Obviously, both teams have suffered the same.
“Two games in such a short space of time is always difficult for any squad. Both teams were the same and dealt with it well I thought and we came out on top.”
Like many inside King Power Stadium, Albrighton was pleased to see Adrien Silva in action for the first time, as the midfielder came off the bench to make a five-minute cameo in front of the Blue Army.
Albrighton added: “He looked good and he looked sharp. When he’s got the ball, that’s no question. He’s a fantastic footballer and that’s what we’ve signed him for – his technical ability.
“He’s shown today that he can do the dogged side as well. He won the ball back a couple of times and that’s what fans over in this country like to see.”
