The Foxes could not breach Huddersfield’s back line in the first half, but they played at a much higher tempo after the interval and deservedly took the lead through Riyad Mahrez.
Islam Slimani doubled the advantage on the hour mark before Marc Albrighton added a third goal in injury time to ensure City would start 2018 with a victory.
“Leicester City were favourites for this game and they were expecting them to come out with a statement of intent,” reflected Taggart to LCFC Radio after the game.
“In the first half, there was some lovely little passing moves that didn’t really come to anything in the final third.
Albrighton's Delight
The winger speaks to LCFC TV following Saturday's win over Huddersfield.
“In that second half, Claude Puel has obviously had a few words at half-time, and maybe changed one or two things in regards to the passing.
“They were getting the ball into the box a little bit earlier and they totally dominated. Huddersfield just didn’t have an answer to Leicester City’s attacking line.
“Three really good goals sealed the deal for Leicester City. All in all, it was a good day’s work here at King Power Stadium.”
