City’s latest Holmes Park success narrows the gap to Premier League 2 leaders Liverpool to just two points as Steve Beaglehole’s side impress on all fronts during a landmark campaign.
On another memorable evening in Whetstone, Sam Hughes, George Thomas (2), Darnell Johnson and Josh Gordon (2) all struck to seal an 18th successive game unbeaten for the Club’s Under-23s.
Assistant manager Petty, a key figure in Beaglehole’s backroom team, told LCFC TV at full-time: “We’re delighted, after going a goal down after five or ten minutes... it was a great response.
Petty Delighted With Spirit And Togetherness
Ben Petty caught up with LCFC TV after the Development Squad's 6-1 victory over Spurs at Holmes Park.
“We’re really enjoying playing at Holmes Park, the lads are in good form and there’s a lot of confidence around. To beat a Spurs team, it’s a great feat tonight for the players.”
While Spurs were ultimately reduced to nine men, with George Marsh and Oliver Skipp being dismissed after the break, City's supremacy was already on show for large periods beforehand.
On the unbeaten run, a patch of form which dates back to September, Petty added: "We’re really proud of it. We keep trying not to talk about it but it goes to show how hard the players are working.
We can go into the final part of the season with so much excitement and so much to play for, it’s a fantastic place for that group of players to be in.
