National Fitness Day encourages the nation to celebrate the fun of fitness and physical activity, whilst raising awareness of the importance of leading healthy and active lifestyles.

Twenty of the pupils involved in the morning’s activities were selected to be flag bearers at Leicester City’s next home game. The chosen individuals will welcome the players onto the King Power Stadium pitch ahead of the Foxes’ game against Everton before heading into the stands to cheer on the team.

Headteacher of Alderman Richard Hallam Primary School, Ann-Marie Kedzior, commented: “Thanks to LCFC Community Trust, our National Fitness Day celebrations have been a major success. The pupils have learnt a great deal about the importance of remaining active and loved meeting the Leicester City legends. Our relationship with the Club continues to go from strength to strength and we would like to thank them for organising such an inspiring event.”

LCFC Community Trust Director, Allison Tripney, said: “We work closely with Alderman Richard Hallam Primary School on our Premier League Primary Stars programme using football as a motivator to get children engaged in learning. Today has been brilliant, everyone has loved celebrating National Fitness Day and promoting the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.”
