- Callum Wright and Tyrese Shade scored for the Foxes at Holmes Park
- City's youngsters rise to fourth in Premier League 2 Division 1 before New Year
- Beaglehole also looked to 2019 - a year he believes could be a big one for the Club's young players
The Foxes surged ahead through Callum Wright and, while Charlie Brown levelled for the visitors, Tyrese Shade made sure of the three points in the second half.
It was City’s third consecutive victory in all competitions and sees them climb to fourth in Premier League 2 Division 1 after 13 matches.
“I am delighted, I’m really pleased we’ve had a bit of a good run just before Christmas,” Beaglehole, the Club’s Senior Professional Development Phase Coach, told LCFC TV at full-time.
“If you like, you could say it’s half the season, that’s what we’ve talked about and I think it makes us pretty much secure in this top league, which again has been very important.

A summary of how Leicester City's Development Squad fared in their final Premier League 2 outing of 2018.
“People might say ‘it doesn’t matter that much’ - it does matter, it’s a top league and to play against teams like this tonight with some of the players they’ve got, it’s a great test for our players.
“All those top teams, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and particularly Manchester City... they’ve got some really good players so we want to be playing against those.
“It’s a good judgement path for us to judge our players.”
Beaglehole also looked to the future, saying whatever the players do in the New Year - whether it involves loan moves or more football for the Under-23s - it is set to be a successful year for many.
“There’s lots of players there that will flourish again in the second half of the season at this level and may hopefully make their debut in the first team,” he added.
I’m looking forward to seeing them develop in the next phase as part of their pathway to trying to get into our first team.

“The ones that stay are there or thereabouts but I also think two or three in there now will go out and get good loan moves in January and play at a decent level.
“I’m looking forward to seeing them develop in the next phase as part of their pathway to trying to get into our first team.”
