LCFC Women are in a good position to continue their winning run away at London City Lionesses, according to manager Jonathan Morgan.

- Maintaining momentum is key for the third-placed Foxes, Morgan adds

City rose up to third in the FA Women's Championship table before the international break, picking up seven points from a possible nine in October, to sit level with second-placed Sheffield United.

LCFC Women manager Morgan says he won't be changing how the side operates as the Foxes go in search of a third consecutive victory, with recent performances providing healthy competition for places within the squad.

"We had a lot of momentum leading up to the international break, obviously after beating Liverpool and then Crystal Palace," Morgan said ahead of Sunday's game (2pm kick-off).

"We've come back and we operate the same way as we did before, we do our homework on the opposition and what we think is the right game plan to work on for this particular week and then the girls just get to business and train as hard as they can to complete for a starting place on Sunday.

The Foxes showed their attacking qualities by putting four goals past Crystal Palace last time out.

"It's all about keeping the momentum now. The girls have worked tremendously hard to get those back-to-back wins. I think they just want to show consistency.

"But more importantly, show the way we've been playing. We've been creating a lot of chances and we just want to continue playing that exciting style of football."

London City Lionesses have endured a difficult start to the campaign, losing four of their opening six fixtures, but Morgan insists Leicester will be preparing the same way they do for every game.

He continued: "The position and the league results don't really have a bearing as anything can happen at this level. I think every team is good enough on their day to take three points, which is brilliant, it's a very competitive league.

"Nobody wants to go a goal down but what the Palace game did show is that we didn't panic, we didn't capitulate, we continued playing the game plan that we had set.

"Thankfully we then went and scored four goals, which, the way the game went, was no surprise and I just expect the same professionalism and mentality from the girls coming in against London City.

"They've probably not got off to the start they would have wanted, but I can guarantee that Sunday will be the platform that they are looking to build on, if they come away with a victory.

"So we're taking nothing for granted, we're underestimating nobody, and all we can do is play to the best of our ability and we're confident that if we do that, we should come away with three points."

Morgan also spoke more generally about his squad depth and how that may come into play during a busy period of fixtures.

November is set to be a hectic month in league and cup as City compete on multiple fronts.

Starting on Sunday, the Foxes will play five games in 17 days during November, with further leagues fixtures against Lewes and Coventry United sandwiched between Continental Tyres League Cup matches versus Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City.

"We've got a very good squad and what we saw against Palace and Liverpool is that we can pick anybody and they will do a job to the highest standard for us," Morgan added.

"We're very much aware as coaches, we've already got certain games earmarked, so that's how much faith we have in the whole squad that we can look ahead and plan ahead if everything stays constant.

"There will be a few changes in the cup as well and that will hopefully keep us fresh for the league."
