- Defeating Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday made it 13 games unbeaten across three competitions

City travel to Old Trafford for their latest challenge in a competition which has already brought victories over holders Aston Villa, Crewe Alexandra and AFC Bournemouth across previous rounds, scoring eight goals and conceding just once in the process.

After playing at Villa Park and Vitality Stadium, they are now preparing to take on the Red Devils at another iconic venue, though the visitors will be looking to impose their own game rather than be overawed by the occasion.

“First of all, it’s a great event, a quarter-final of the Youth Cup,” Barradell commented, speaking to LCFC.com in the build-up to the clash. “To play at such a historical ground and against such a big club, I think it’s going to be so exciting game for all of the players and staff.

We want to go as far as we can and the aim will be to get through in the FA Youth Cup. They are the standards we’ve set and that’s the level that we want to hit.

“We certainly won’t be going there fearing anything. I think we’ve got a good way of working, the way we are playing at the moment. The lads are showing a really high level of performance and developing individually and as a team very, very nicely.”

The young Foxes head into the last-eight tie on a long-standing unbeaten run across all competitions which extended to 13 games courtesy of a comprehensive 4-1 success over Tottenham Hotspur at LCFC Training Ground at the weekend.

Goals from top scorer Chris Popov and Amani Richards added to Jack Butterfill’s brace, sending Leicester back up to third in the U18 Premier League South standings.

Progress has also been made in the U18 Premier League Cup this month, with a semi-final spot secured after defeating Brighton & Hove Albion away from home.

City’s FA Youth Cup campaign has been filled with memorable moments, including Jack Butterfill’s late winner against Crewe.

The coach continued: “The boys have done excellently to get where they are at the moment, but we’ve got where we are through the standards that they’ve set. I know I mention it a lot, but the training and the daily habits that the players are forming, it puts the boys in good stead going forward.

“You’ve seen the benefit of that when they’ve gone up and played with the Under-23s - and done well.

“We want to go as far as we can and the aim will be to get through in the FA Youth Cup. They are the standards we’ve set and that’s the level that we want to hit.”
