Leicester City are delighted to announce the signing of defender Harry Maguire from Hull City for an undisclosed fee.
Maguire, 24, joins the Foxes on a five-year deal and will link up with his new team-mates in early July ahead of their pre-season training camp in Austria.
Speaking exclusively to LCFC TV, he said: “It’s obviously a very exciting time for myself. Once I had my eyes on this club, I always wanted to join. Thankfully I’m here so I can’t wait to get the season started and kick on.
“There were a number of clubs interested, but when I met the manager here, he pretty much swayed it into the direction of this club. He showed me the way that the Club is going. It’s on the up and it looks very promising for the future, so credit to the gaffer.
“You can see that with the structure of the Club, it’s going to look upwards rather than down so that was a big reason why, as soon as I knew there was an interest, I wanted to jump at the opportunity.”
The Sheffield-born centre back made his professional debut for Sheffield United in April 2011 and went on to make over 100 appearances for the Blades across three seasons.
Maguire then made the permanent switch to Hull City in July 2014 and played six times for the Tigers before joining Wigan Athletic on loan in February 2015.
With Championship experience under his belt, Maguire was heavily involved for Hull during the 2015/16 season, featuring 33 times in all competitions to help his side gain promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
The 2016/17 campaign also proved to be productive for the former England Under-21 defender, who made a total of 36 appearances, earning Hull’s fans’ and players’ player of the season titles in the process.
