- The Cod Army will be City's hosts in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round on Saturday (12:45pm kick-off)
- Puel is looking forward to the challenge, but says focus is an essential requirement in Lancashire
While the Foxes currently sit 48 places above the Cod Army in the football pyramid, Puel is fully aware of the scope for upset in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round.
When his City outfit kick off in Lancashire at 12:45pm on Saturday, the Frenchman says he will expect a professional performance against Uwe Rösler’s Sky Bet League 1 hosts.
“It will be different conditions and, for me, we must show our concentration, good spirit and attitude,” said Puel, addressing the media at King Power Stadium on Thursday.
“It is crucial that we are focused. If two or three do not have good focus and concentration, we could have a difficult moment against this team.
“We show them respect because we know it is a crucial game for them but also for us.”
On the task at hand at Highbury Stadium, Puel acknowledged that the fixture carries an added importance due to the heritage of the FA Cup in English football.
The tie is also scheduled to be broadcast live on terrestrial television in the United Kingdom, making it available to a wider domestic audience.
“They are a unique team with quality also,” he added. “They made a good championship at this level and, of course, they will have a lot of concentration and energy.
“A lot of people will be watching, so it is important for the players to play against Leicester and try to do a fantastic effort. We need a positive attitude from the start of the match.
"In France, the fans like this competition. As a player, it was difficult for me because, when we played another team in a different level, sometimes my team-mates didn’t have a good concentration.
"These games are always difficult to play against an opponent with a good motivation. It is important to prepare this game in a good spirit and to put our qualities on the pitch.
"If we want to make a result, we have to play a strong game with a good mentality."
