At club level, Howard previously played for Reading and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, while she is capped over 20 times at international level for Scotland and also represented her nation at the 2017 UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championships and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Throughout her debut 2020/21 season in Leicester, Howard combined duties for LCFC Women and Scotland, delivering an array of impressive performances for club and country.
A strong and influential defender, the German-born centre-back quickly became a valuable member of City's side, featuring 19 times and also operating as a full-back when required, helping to clinch the Barclays Women's Championship title in 2020/21.
The 2021/22 campaign saw Howard score her maiden LCFC Women goal, against Manchester United in the Continental Tyres League Cup, and then repeat the feat at home to Birmingham City later that month, netting for the first time in the WSL and subsequently being nominated for December's Goal of the Month award.
She soon netted in the 2021/22 Vitality Women's FA Cup, too, providing the second goal during a 3-1 success at Tottenham Hotspur in round four of the competition.
Howard reached 100 appearances for LCFC Women on the final day of the 2023/24 season at King Power Stadium, as the Foxes confirmed a tenth-placed finish despite losing to Liverpool.
