Finish The Season Strongly, Says Morgan
- Wes Morgan wants Leicester City to finish the 2018/19 Premier League season as convincingly as possible
- The Foxes have six fixtures to play and currently sit ninth in the table
- Morgan was proud to see the Blue Army singing Khun Vichai’s name during the 61st minute in recognition of the late Chairman’s birthday
With 18 points to play for, the Foxes currently occupy ninth position in England’s top-flight standings following a triumph over Bournemouth last weekend.
Morgan’s third goal in four Premier League appearances helped City to a third-straight win, and while Brendan Rodgers’ men have the opportunity to record their second-highest Premier League finish, the captain says winning their next game – a trip to Huddersfield Town – is their only priority.
“We just want to go out there and finish the season strongly,” said Morgan, following City’s victory against the Cherries.

“That’s three games in a row now and the boys are in good form at the moment. We’ll take it one game at a time and anything’s possible.”
Morgan was full of praise for King Power Stadium’s atmosphere on Saturday, particularly in the 61st minute, when over 30,000 City fans sang the name of Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha aloud to celebrate his 61st birthday.
“The boys went out to the ceremony in Thailand in the international break and we paid our respects,” said the captain.
“Obviously, we returned [last weekend], and we always want to put a good performance in but that one was for Vichai, definitely.
On another day, it could have been a better scoreline, but credit to the boys, we stuck to our game plan, we got the goals at the right time, and got the result.

“I was glad to see the fans all standing up on the 61st minute and all singing his praises.”
The Foxes delivered a complete performance against Bournemouth, as goals from Morgan and Jamie Vardy sealed a third Premier League win in the month of March.
“From the very first whistle, we stamped our authority on the game,” Morgan added. “We passed the ball, we were patient at times, we stepped up the tempo when we needed to and we created quite a few chances.
