The weekend got started with AFCON qualifying action for three Leicester City players; Ayew one of them, who had scored twice in recent weeks in the Premier League, and this time he netted for his country with a stunning free-kick as Ghana took the lead over Angola, alongside Abdul Fatawu who saw out the first half before his replacement at the interval.

In front until the hour mark, Zini equalised for the hosts at Estádio 11 de Novembro, completing the scoring in Group F, where the Black Stars remain bottom with three points after five games, now out of reach of qualification. The City pair have the chance to feature again on Monday afternoon when Ghana take on Niger (4pm kick-off).

Staying in Africa, Bilal El Khannouss played the last 10 minutes in Morocco's emphatic 5-1 win over Gabon, in which Real Madrid's Brahim Díaz scored twice at Stade de Franceville. Remaining top of Group B with a 100 per cent record, Morocco's next game sees them face Lesotho on Monday evening (7pm kick-off).

The final Foxes to take part in fixtures on the global stage were Danish duo Victor Kristiansen and Jannik Vestergaard who both played 90 minutes at Parken in Copenhagen, where 'keeper Mads Hermansen remained an unused substitute. The Danes were defeated 2-1 by Spain.

The loss keeps Denmark second in Nations League A Group 4 with seven points; three clear of their next opponents Serbia, who they take on at Gradski Stadion Dubočica on Monday evening (7:45pm kick-off), as they aim for progression to the Championship play-offs.
