Vardy found the net twice, while Youri Tielemans and James Maddison also netted individual stunners at John Smith’s Stadium, to fire the Foxes up to seventh in the Premier League standings.

While Vardy felt City were occasionally sloppy in west Yorkshire, the 32-year-old striker, whose 2018/19 tally now stands at 15, was nonetheless satisfied with the overall performance.

“It was a good team performance” he told LCFC TV, speaking at full-time. “We had a bit of a word with ourselves at half-time, I thought it was a bit sloppy.

Vardy: Plenty More To Come

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy speaks to LCFC TV after his double helped the Foxes to a 4-1 win over Huddersfield.

“At times we were playing really well but that’s what it’s about, it’s about getting consistency and we’ll be on that training field now looking forward to next week.

“You always enjoy it when you’re winning games so like I say, we need to keep that consistency going now, get on the training field and put the hard work in ready for next week.

“The confidence is really high but this is only the start. We put the work in on the training field and take that into the game.

“We’ve got another build-up now for the Newcastle game on Friday, where we’ll be putting all the work in and hopefully get another win.”

The support is always fantastic, they’re never quiet and they sing all the way through and we just want to show our appreciation for the amount of travelling they do and the support they give us.

Vardy also stated an ambition to score even more goals for Brendan Rodgers’ side, with five matches remaining of the 2018/19 season, while also paying tribute to the Blue Army’s support.

“I feel like I’m in good form but it’s through hard work and there’s plenty more to come,” he added. “There’s a lot more games left until the end of the season so hopefully there will be more goals.

“The support is always fantastic, they’re never quiet and they sing all the way through and we just want to show our appreciation for the amount of travelling they do and the support they give us.”
