Khun Top Outlines Foxes' Ambition In CITY Matchday Magazine
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Khun Top will succeed the late Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and will continue to lead the Club in the pursuit of a vision he and his father began when their Leicester City journey started nearly a decade ago.
Ahead of Sunday’s Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Khun Aiyawatt recently sat down with CITY Matchday Magazine to discuss the Club’s football ambitions, off-field infrastructure – including the state-of-the-art new training ground and expansion of King Power Stadium – and his long-term vision for Leicester City.
“[I’m] really excited and I think our fans are too,” the Club’s 31st Chairman said, explaining the sense of anticipation and hope felt by everybody at King Power Stadium this week.
“Even considering everything we’ve been through in recent years, I can’t remember many seasons starting with the same excitement and energy we seem to have going into this one.
We’re ambitious and I like that nobody has any fear talking about our ambition. We want to keep improving, keep aspiring and that means looking up.

“We finished last season with a lot of momentum after some significant improvements during the final few months and I think people could see there would be more improvement to come under Brendan’s management.
“We’ve had a good summer in the transfer market, doing good business for the Club and investing in players of the right age and profile that are hungry to be successful and prove they are capable at the highest levels of the game.
“We saw real promise at times last season and some stand-out results against some really good teams.
“The Premier League feels as competitive as it has ever been, but hopefully we can apply some more consistency this season, which is important if we’re to take that next step.”

Since Leicester’s remarkable Premier League title win in 2016, the Foxes have competed in the UEFA Champions League and established themselves in the top-flight.
Ahead of the Club’s sixth successive Premier League campaign – the 10th of King Power International’s ownership – Khun Top also believes the Club’s hierarchy have a clear idea of what is attainable over upcoming seasons.
“We’re ambitious and I like that nobody has any fear talking about our ambition,” he continued. “We want to keep improving, keep aspiring and that means looking up.
“The Premier League’s top six have been established for some time, but it has to be our long-term aspiration to break into that when opportunities arise.
“Whether that can happen this season remains to be seen, but our first target has to be to improve on last season, in all competitions. Not all improvements can be measured by points or league position, but we know where we’d like to be.”
The full interview with the Club's Chairman can be found in CITY Matchday Magazine on Sunday, when it will be available at a reduced price of £3 from vendors outside King Power Stadium and inside the Foxes Fanstore.
