Dempsey Arlott-John's second-half penalty sealed a 1-1 draw with Norwich City for Leicester City's youngsters on the opening day of the U18 Premier League South on Saturday.
Following an even opening to the match, the Canaries went ahead after 35 minutes as Tom Dickson-Peters latched onto Tyrese Omotoye's pass to send it past Oliver Bosworth.
The young Foxes, however, lost just 11 of their matches last season as they finished in seventh place and they were level soon after emerging from the interval.
City were awarded a penalty just before the hour-mark, allowing Arlott-John, who impressed at the HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens in May, to open his account for the Under-18s.
The solitary point earned after matchweek 1 places Leicester's youngsters in sixth-place, while Fulham, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea and West Ham United all won.
Next Saturday, meanwhile, the young Foxes have another opportunity to seal their maiden three points of the new campaign when they head to Reading (12pm BST kick-off).
A fast-paced month will also include a visit to Brighton on Saturday 24 August (12pm BST kick-off) and the visit of Fulham to St George's Park on Wednesday 28 August (5pm BST kick-off).
