Kasper Schmeichel, who has 47 international caps to his name, could potentially play on 5 September, when Denmark face Gibraltar in Group D of the UEFA 2020 European Championship qualifiers.

Three days later, meanwhile, the Danes head to Georgia for a second qualifier, as they attempt to add to the five points they have collected from three outings to date.

Defender Jonny Evans may also feature on Thursday, as Northern Ireland aim to continue their 100 per cent start in Group C.

Midfielders Dennis Praet and Youri Tielemans have been named in the Belgium squad for their Euro qualifying fixtures against San Marino and Scotland.

Their opening match takes place at San Marino’s national team stadium, Olimpico di Serravalle, on Friday 6 September, while they then head to Hampden Park for a clash with Scotland having won all four of their first games in Group I.

Wembley Stadium will be the venue for England’s encounter with Bulgaria on Saturday 7 September, as James Maddison targets a senior debut for the Three Lions.

Accompanied by Academy graduate Ben Chilwell in Gareth Southgate’s 25-man squad, England will then take on Kosovo at Southampton’s St. Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday 10 September. England currently sit top of Group D with two wins from two games.

City shot-stopper Danny Ward will hope to add to his six caps for Wales during the international break, with two home fixtures next up for Ryan Giggs’ men.

On Friday, they will entertain Azerbaijan in Group E at Cardiff City Stadium, where three days later they welcome Belarus, having won two of their first three games.

Striker Kelechi Iheanacho has been selected by Nigeria, who finished third in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations this summer.

Iheanacho’s side head to the Dnipro Arena for an international friendly encounter with Ukraine on Tuesday 10 September.
