Foxes Fanstore Hosts ‘90s Retro Throwback Evening
Coinciding with the launch of the Club’s all-new Retro Collection, City favourites Emile Heskey, Tony Cottee, Gerry Taggart and Matt Elliott took to the stage to reminisce about one of the most successful periods in the Football Club’s history.
The Q&A, in which City fans were invited to submit their questions ahead of the special evening, produced some highly-entertaining moments, as the former Foxes quartet shared tales of their time at Filbert Street in front of a live audience.
Emile Heskey
“You do get a feel when you come to Leicester City that you develop an affiliation really quickly,” Elliott said when asked about the Club’s fans.
“Lots of players have been at lots of different clubs and the majority of them say the same – that their best time in their career was at Leicester City.
“Not necessarily the most successful, but the best. It was just a vibe out the Club, you got a genuine feel for the passion of the supporters.”

Discussing his strike partner at City, Cottee said: “I always loved playing alongside Emile. All I wanted to do was score goals.
“We’ve got Jamie Vardy, who is a better team player than I ever was, but you need someone who puts the ball in the net.
“I always give Emile a mention because we had three great years together and we scored a lot of goals.”
'90s Throwback Q&A
After the Q&A, those in attendance were able to get their memorabilia, as well as items from the Club’s retro range, signed by the Foxes icons, as well as posing for photos with the firm fans’ favourites.
When asked about how City can fare this term, Taggart said: “When you spend time around the place, the buzz is back. What you’re seeing on the pitch is really good.
“I keep saying to people that this is a young team. They have a lot to learn, but what you’re seeing right now is exciting football.
'90s Throwback Q&A
“It’s getting people off their seats, and we’ve got a really exciting manager in Brendan Rodgers, who works really well with younger players. That is a breeding ground for success.”
Heskey added: “They’re playing with a lot of confidence. I always think young players need a year or two to get used to the way a manager plays, but these players seem to have done really well so far. It’s exciting times ahead.”
The Club’s new Retro Collection will be available for purchase from shop.lcfc.com or the Foxes Fanstore at King Power Stadium from 9am BST on Friday 20 September.
